ZZZPhone - Nice Idea, Too Bad its a Scam!#
Post By Steve "fyiguy" Hughes

If you have perused the Internet lately you may have seen some posts on Engadget and MobilitySite of the ZZZphone offer, which seems like a pretty good idea to build a customized Windows Mobile phone starting at $149. This seems like a great deal, especially if you have to consider how much it costs to license the use of Windows Mobile for manufacturers . The phones look to be made by ZTE Corp, (similar phone being sold here, here and here), which just recently closed a manufacturing plant in Abuja, Nigeria that was set up in 2005 to help distribute and sell its handsets throughout Africa. ZTE makes handsets for several carriers like Telus and MetroPCS.

Well save your hard earned cash, it looks like a scam from sources that said they purchased one it runs Symbian and not Windows Mobile 6 as advertised. It was confirmed by Microsoft that the device is also using pirated Windows Mobile logos on the box and engraved in the case and it is also running a non-commercial version of Symbian. Also the radio stack won't connect on any US operator.

Note the bottom right hand screen has the phone with a Windows XP logo and not Windows Mobile.

So BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Hmmm... Some thoughts on the obviously deeply thought-out post -

1) "extort a free phone..." Really? Nice rationalization. Was this with or without the use of drugs. No one here has ever asked for a zzzPhone. You see, if you had read the post and thought rather than slandered, you would realize that it is not worth the effort.
2) "posting ... in rage all over the net" - OK. Here's a little "fun fact" about the Internet, sweetie: Other poeple linking to one post from one person is NOT the same as one person posting in many places. I suggest you re-read your won-out copy of "The Internet for Dummies".
3) Do you kiss your mother with that gutter mouth? Honestly, I would not have given this comment post the time of day if not for the lanuguage used. It's one thing to be mentally-challenged; please consider ways of not exposing it to the world with posts like this in the future. Minus the bad language, you might have had a few seconds of credibility.

Hello Blogosphere,
I am Customizeaphone.com, a registered affiliate with zzzPhone, and in constant contact with the company. I can answer all your questions, and sell you the phones with a guarantee of service, and tech support. To answer some of the questions from other users, the reason the owner has so many irrelevant NWdomain names registered is because he is a massive business man, and this is only one of his many business's. The phone is not running Windows Mobile as said originally, rather is running a proprietary linux OS. BIG NEWS NOT YET RELEASED! We are working to release all the phones with Android (http://www.openhandsetalliance.com/android_overview.html) as the primary OS and will be available in approx 45 days. We have just hired 20 additional engineers and programmers to make that a reality, and also to develop Android apps specifically for the phone.
To continue answering the questions from above, the site is still under development, and is now cross compatible.
There is now an option to remove the cameras on the phone bringing the lowest possible configuration to $138.
There is also an option to upgrade the battery from 1800 to 2200mAh. This brings the life of the battery to be longer then the Nokia N95.
As far as changing the body is concerned, do not despair, we have future models in development, and a full touch screen option is among them. Feel free to contact me at info@customizeaphone.com for more information, and visit my website at http://www.customizeaphone.com for more details.

Jesse Nowlin,

Perhaps you can address the scam claims rather than talking about why we should buy one. I think everyone is hoping this is a legit phone but there are a lot of questions left unanswered:
Specifically from the post:
1) pirated Windows Mobile logos on the box and engraved in the case
2) non-commercial version of Symbian
3) radio stack won't connect on any US operator
Are these claims true?
Telling us the next "BIG NEWS NOT YET RELEASED!" is great, unless it's an attempt to avoid the issue that this is not a legitimate phone.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Jesse and all the people who are all in this, can you tell me why I ordered my phone since February and haven't receive my order yet? I have prove through my paypal account and my gmail that I was being lead to believe that my order was coming to me week after week and when I asked about a refund, no one replied to my email. Matt Hammond the owner who started this was so reluctant to email me back. hmm...I smell a scam. Since there seems to be an office in Vegas, I am reporting this to the Better Business Bureau.

I love it. the design is great. I believe it will be a perfect present for my brother. You know it is very difficult to choose presents. It seems to me that I presented himwith everything. That is why this time I even used the book with present tips ( I found it at the pdf search http://pdf.rapid4me.com ). Though the phone is not what I read in the book but it seems to be so nice. I can't help but buying it.

I used to find notes left in timberland 6 inch collection basket, beautiful notes about my homilies and about the writer's thoughts on the daily scriptural timberland 6 inch boots readings. The person who penned timberland rolltop boots notes would add reflections to my thoughts and would always include some quotes from poets and mystics he or she had read timberland custom boots and remembered and loved. The notes fascinated me.Here was someone immersed in a search for truth and beauty.Words had been treasured, words that were beautiful black timberland boots .And I felt as if the words somehow delighted in being discovered, for they were obviously very generous to the timberland work shoes as yet anonymous writer of the notes. And now this person was in turn learning timberland winter boots secret of sharing them.Beauty so shines when given away. How long does it take most of us to reach ladies timberland boots that level of human growth,if we ever get there? We get so consumed diminished, worrying about all the things that need improving,we can easily forget to cherish those timberland hiking boots things that last.Friendship,so rare and so good, just needs our care--maybe even the simple gesture of writing a little timberland waterproof boots note now and then,or the dropping of some beautiful words in a basket,in the hope that such beauty will be shared and taken to timberland womens premium boots heart. http://www.timberland6inch.com/
